Considered one of Alberta's foremost cartoonists, Fred Curatolo has been drawing since the age of three. Fred began serious editorial cartooning in 1982, and was first published in 1983 in the prestigious Toronto Sun.
In 1986, Curatolo started his full-time cartooning career with Metroland Newspapers, until 1989. Three years later, Fred joined the Edmonton Sun as its resident editorial cartoonist and continued in this position until 2006. In 2011, Fred became a staff cartoonist with The Leader in St. Albert, drawing a wide variety of cartoons, including a comic strip, until 2015. A converted westerner, Fred still works different publications. Curatolo won an Ontario Newspaper Award for cartooning in 1987, and received national recognition for his work at the 1991 Dunlop Awards in Toronto.

He would continue to win numerous more Dunlop Awards, as well as other awards in cartooning. In English speaking Canada, Curatolo's work has appeared in all 4 of Toronto's major dailies along with the biggest dailies and weeklies across Canada. His work now appears in numerous publications across North America.
